Punggol Nostalgia

Day 4      23 Dec 2001 Sun (Day 5)       Day 6

Woked up slightly later for breaky today since we had no trip planned. At breakfast, we saw some of the staff moving a new styrofoam-sand sculpture of a manta ray to a spot near the restaurant. Very cool. Guess thats settle our doubt abt whether the dolphin and turtle scultures were made of only sand.

Aicha was eating alone at breaky. Said that Dumit was still sleeping. Today is her last day on the island. I detected a tinge of sadness in her. As we were walking back to our rooms, we saw her strolling alone with a camera in her hand. Think she's just trying to chill and memorise whatever she can bring back with her. Wonder how we will feel when our turn comes. Ok..gonna go do some snorkkeling now. Gonna forget the fins and keep my Tshirt on just like yesterday. Think I've heard the Collective Soul CD 2-3 times through. Both our surrounding neighbours went topless today. Mega boobies day. Thought it was rude to do that here. What's wrong with these people man ? Saw a black tip right in front of our villa. Was only there for a while before it dissappeared. Fed our bread to the pomfret-looking fish in front of our villa. The name "Terrorist Fish" has sort of stuck since a few days ago coz they were following me in constantly increasing numbers. We were sitting at the edge of the beach where the waves break and they were swimming right up to us. After a while we could even touch them. Tried to do a bit of tanning in the afternoon, but didn't get very far with When We Were Orphans by Katzuo Ishiguro. Fell asleep and woke up to the stuttering of a nearby dhoni. Decided to go canoeing with our bread. Rowed round the island but realised that no fish was eating our bread. So ended up feeding the rest to the terrorist fish in front of our villa.

Dinner was great as usual...had a lamb on a spit. Went to jetty again at night, hoping the mantas would come but no luck. Ended up looking at the stars in front of our villa. After that, we decided to watch Dude, Where's My Car. Quite funny but M got tired and wanted to sleep so we had to stop.
